Welcome messages on Discord with an image
DogMate greets every new member with a card that shows their avatar, name and member number. You can add a role on join, buttons to your key channels and a private message. It is free and takes a few minutes.

What you need
- a Discord server where you have the Manage Server permission,
- a channel for welcomes, for example
#welcome.
Step by step
- Add DogMate to your server. Click “Add DogMate to your server”, pick the server and approve the permissions.
- Open the dashboard. Log in with Discord at panel.kalispro.uk, choose your server and open Welcome.
- Pick the channel and the text. Turn welcomes on, choose the channel and write your message, or keep the default one. The welcome card with the avatar is on by default.
- Add a role and buttons (optional). A role on join, for example
@New, and buttons under the welcome that lead to your rules, role picker and info channel. - Test it. Type
/welcome teston your server. Only you see the preview.
Make the welcome your own
In Message builder you can change how the welcome looks: plain text or an embed, colour, thumbnail, image, footer and up to three of your own link buttons. The preview updates live, before anything reaches your server.
Goodbyes and private messages
In the same section you can turn on a private message for new members and a goodbye when someone leaves. Goodbyes go to the welcome channel unless you pick another one.

Common problems
The bot does not give the role
In your server settings, drag the DogMate role above the role it should give. The dashboard marks roles the bot cannot assign with (!).
No welcome appears
Check that welcomes are turned on, a channel is picked and the bot can send messages and files there.
